Supply Chain & Operations is seeking to recruit a Manager with strong strategy consulting experience and a history of supply chain & operations projects. Accenture’s Supply Chain & Operations service line within Accenture Strategy operates the following domains across industry groups: Supply Chain & Fulfillment, Sourcing & Procurement, and Operations & Process Transformation.

In our team you will learn to:

  • Use your judgment to solve complex, ambiguous client business problems, bringing structure and rigorous quantitative and qualitative analysis techniques

  • Lead definition of strategic direction, using analysis to address our clients’ business challenges and deliver lasting and distinctive outcomes and value

  • Develop knowledge of prevailing market trends, financials and operating drivers across multiple industries

  • Leverage digital / data analytics to create powerful insights to solve client problems

  • Build and sustain trusted senior client relationships in the C-suite

  • Develop and lead high performing multidisciplinary Strategy teams

  • Run Accenture’s business and contribute to business development activities

In this role you will:

  • Lead successful strategy engagements addressing our clients’ challenges, delivering lasting and distinctive outcomes and value in disciplines such as:

    • Supply Chain or Procurement Strategy & Segmentation (Vision, Operating Model, Diagnostics, Transformation Roadmap, etc.)

    • Strategic Cost Reduction (Zero Based Spend, Zero Based Supply Chain, Closed Loop Spend Management methodology, etc.)

    • Responsible and Resilient Supply Chain & Procurement (Risk, Performance, Innovation, Diversity, Sustainability)

    • Digital Supply Chain: Architecting innovative digital interventions across the supply chain, from a range of emergent technologies (inc. Cloud, IoT, AI) and supply chain software products

    • Platform-Driven Intelligent Transformation (Technology Strategy, Technology Architecture, etc.)

    • Mergers and Acquisitions (Pre and Post Merger Integration)

    • Warehouse & Inventory Management Optimisation (Warehouse Design, Automation, Robotics, Warehouse Management Systems)

    • Network Design & Optimisation (Network Strategy, Network Modelling)

    • Demand and Supply Planning

    • Control Tower Design and Value Realisation

    • Direct & Indirect Sourcing Optimisation

  • Understand client strategic and operational issues to develop possible solutions

  • Structure and create business/market assessments

  • Maintain an understanding of advancements in technology and innovations which are happening across digital, analytics, the supply chain & procurement ecosystem and broader marketplace

  • Develop business cases to identify, measure and realise enterprise value and contribute to business development


We are looking for experience in the following:

  • Experience at a top tier or boutique consulting firm or through an ‘in-house’ consulting/business development role with a focus on: supply chain or procurement transformations, strategic cost reduction, demand & supply planning, responsible supply chain, sourcing & procurement, optimisation, logistics, network strategy & modelling, or warehouse & inventory management optimisation

  • A clear understanding of how supply chains are being disrupted by Digital technologies, and the opportunities for value creation

  • Familiarity with recognised Strategy frameworks and techniques

  • Experience of research, quantitative analysis and structured problem solving

  • Experience of building relationships at all levels in an organization

  • A good understanding of how various industries operate including products, players, value chain business models, operating models, industry trends and challenges and regulatory frameworks

  • A robust understanding of core supply chain & procurement business capabilities

  • Experience leading diverse teams in complex strategy/consulting engagements

  • Strong programme management experience

Academic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent

Set yourself apart:

  • Supply chain technology and digital disruptor awareness, including but not limited to SAP, S4/IBP, SAP Ariba, Coupa, Jaggaer, iValua, Kinaxis, E2Open, Oracle, Blue Yonder, O9, intelligent automation, Internet of Things (IoT), blockchain and analytics, etc.; other specific systems / applications relevant from previous experience;

  • Functional experience including some of the following:

    • Distributed order management, inventory management, demand planning, supply planning, distribution and logistics, transport sourcing, global trade management

    • Closed loop spend management, direct or indirect materials/SG&A (Technology, Marketing, Travel, Facilities, Professional Services, etc.) cost takeout, sourcing, procure-to-pay, contract & supplier management, third party risk management, sustainable procurement

  • Involvement with the commercial management of consulting engagements
