You are:
API Cloud Software Developers to design and implement modular, cloud-native, API-centric applications. These applications will support next generation defense and intelligence operations with a focus on incorporating machine learning insights to automate and scale analysis. Teams will be working in an Agile development environment and expected to identify and mitigate risks and bottlenecks associated with big data environments.
The work:
- Serve as a full-stack developer to create and extend microservices and APIs, integrate COTS products and data/queries, and produce resilient, performant, and scalable applications.
- Work with product owners and user experience designers on the planning and implementation of functional requirements
- Develop services comprised often of REST, Java, JSON, Spring, Python, JavaScript frameworks (i.e. JQuery, Angular, React), and Docker
- Identifies and integrates applicable Customer and IC shared services (e.g., IC PKI)
- Use processes and tools that support the DevSecOps pipeline including JIRA, Git, Junit, Jenkins, SonarQube, Fortify, and Artifactory
- Measure and optimize service execution using tools such as AppDynamics, CloudWatch, and Splunk.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and recommend appropriate action.
- Develop or provide input to engineering artifact.
Here's what you need:
- Multiple years’ scripting, full-stack development and/or configuration experience
- Experience developing and implementing APIs
- Expertise with scripting frameworks such as, Java, Python, JavaScript, SQL, and/or other related ecosystems and frameworks
- Ability to review and maintain existing codes and applications
- Ability to research and evaluate new concepts and processes to improve performance
The extras:
- US citizenship required; Dual citizens not eligible
Bonus points if you have:
- Familiarity with distributed platforms (i.e. HBase, Kafka, Spark, NiFi) and the cloud (i.e. AWS, GCP, Azure), preferably Amazon Web Services
- Familiarity with no-SQL databases like Neo4j, ElasticSearch, or Cassandra
- DOD8570 IAT Level 1 or 2 certified (A+, Security+, etc. certification)
