Federal - Splunk Architect

You are:  

An innovator and problem-solver. You’re an expert when it comes to protecting on-prem and cloud-based systems. And you can configure and deploy any security tool that comes across your desk. While staying on your toes, you design customized and cutting-edge solutions. You know security solutioning requires knowledge of infrastructure, trusted applications, continuous monitoring proper implementation of security appliances and virtual machines.  You understand who or what is connecting to the network and how to properly implement security frameworks such as Access Control and Zero Trust.

The Work:

Provide functional and/or technical expertise to plan, analyze, define and support the delivery of future functional and technical capabilities for an application or group of applications. Assist in facilitating impact assessment efforts and in producing and reviewing estimates for client work requests.    

• Automate threat feeds and integration with Splunk Enterprise Security
• Develop Splunk modules to support implementation and deployment activities.
• Develop Splunk interfaces and automated feeds and support integration of Splunk with other enterprise security platforms, databases, etc.
• Support Splunk performance optimization efforts.
• Contribute design and architectures to support evolution of security monitoring.
• Support the gathering of business requirements and capabilities.
• Integrate Splunk with a wide variety of legacy data sources.
• Configure and Validate the security of Splunk resources, systems, access, etc.
• Experience configuring and managing AWS virtual compute resources desired.
• Experience with Splunk SmartStore desired.


Here's what you need:

  • Splunk Clustering Experience
  • Must be familiar with Splunk dashboard content development techniques.
  • Linux command experience with system administration and/or BASH or Python scripting
  • Must possess at least 5 years of work experience and a bachelor’s degree or 9 years overall professional experience

Bonus points if you have:

  • Experience with Linux operating system environment.
  • Experience with AWS virtualized compute resources and capabilities.
  • Experience operating in an Agile DevOps environment.
  • One or more related certification such as CISSP, CCNP, Security+, AWS Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Developer, Azure Fundamentals, Azure Administrator Associate, Azure DevOps Engineer, Splunk Core Consultant, Elasticsearch Engineer, applicable Security vendor certifications (Microsoft, Red Hat, McAfee, Tenable, Carbon Black, palo alto, Cylance, FireEye, CrowdStrike, etc.).
  • Experienced in the acquisition, design, sizing, deployment, installation, maintenance, operating and usage of the Government Enterprise networks
  • Familiarity with the NIST 800, FedRAMP, Risk Management Framework, Security Controls, and the Federal Information Security Modernization Act (FISMA) operating standards and applicable guidelines
