People in the Sales career track play a key role working as part of our account team to grow pipeline and sales by originating, identifying, managing, and closing sales opportunities across a range of Accenture Intelligent Products & Platforms and Cloud offerings, They progress by deepening sales skills, developing new skills, and evolve into more complex sales roles on larger opportunities. Sales professionals drive the sales process and outcomes on a dedicated basis, growing a profitable pipeline and/or backlog of sales, through deal origination, sales negotiations, and closure.

You are:

  • A growth focused sales professional who has successfully created positive impact through year-on-year business expansion.  You have run all phases of a sales cycle, including origination, qualification, sales pursuit and close by applying deep sales process and technical expertise.
  • You develop relationships with key buyers and decision-makers at new and existing clients by utilizing a differentiated roadmap and framework leveraging the latest Intelligent Products and Platforms and cloud-based technologies.
  • These technologies will involve Software Platform Engineering and Modernization of customer facing Platforms, Cloud Native Platforms, Engineering Digitization including Product Lifecycle Management, Digital Thread and Digital Twin and IoT-Smart Connected Solutions.


The work:

  • Originates sales pursuits, create solutions to complex technology business problems/opportunities requiring in-depth knowledge of client buyer needs and closes sales.
  • Interacts with senior management levels at clients and within Accenture, determines pursuit strategies, develops client messaging plans and relationships, and applies industry-leading Digital transformation strategies and practices.
  • Has latitude in decision-making and determining objectives and approaches to critical assignments.
  • Operates within large teams and directs specific team sales activities.
  • Able to travel Monday-Thursday (as required) ​ post COVID travel considerations/concerns (as currently much of our work is virtual)

Key Responsibilities

  • Initiates and manages the pipeline of target client organizations and roles
  • Develops and executes on sales plan to win profitable deals and meet sales targets
  • Builds trusted relationships with client stakeholders to create value
  • Originate, manage and close opportunities through the establishment of a win strategy, ongoing qualification, coordinating all required internal approvals, identification of required resources, management of the solution/proposition development, management of client interactions during the sales process and facilitating the negotiations and closing activities
  • Participate as a key member of the pursuit team, along with Accenture’s own Industry X experts and members from the client account team
  • Manages the pursuit budget, communications and performance against process milestones.
  • Communicates and reinforces the sales strategy and client requirements to the pursuit team.
  • Educates and coaches the pursuit team on the pursuit and third-party intermediary (where applicable) processes. 
  • Develops and manages the project schedule and formulates the pursuit timeline and reviews/gates.
  • Ability to travel up to 100%  

A professional at this position level within Accenture has the following responsibilities:

  • Understands the strategic direction set by senior management as it relates to team goals.
  • Uses own judgment to determine optimal solution to recommend.
  • Primary upward interaction is with direct supervisor or teams leads.
  • Generally, interacts with peers and/or management levels at a client and/or within Accenture.
  • Determines methods and procedures on new assignments with minimal guidance.
  • Decisions often impact the team in which they reside and occasionally impact other teams.
  • Manages medium-small sized teams and/or work efforts (if in an individual contributor role) within Accenture.


Here's what you need:

  • Product Engineering/Engineering Outsourcing Sales experience with high annual sales targets
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in direct sales with quota of $20M+
  • Minimum of 5 years selling Software Products and Platforms engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years selling Product life cycle management
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in bid management and contract shaping.
  • Minimum of 7 years of selling/business development experience and proven track record
  • Minimum of 7 years selling/closing deals in the professional services space in one or more of the following areas: Technology Services such as system integration, consulting and development services, Cloud migration and modernization and Public Cloud managed services
  • Minimum of 8 years’ Sales Pursuit Management experience.

Bonus points if you have:

  • Industry experience in Health Payers, High Tech, Consumer Goods, Resources.    
  • Experience working within G2000 customers.
  • Experience with C-Level client relationship building and relationship management.
  • Proven ability to operate within a team-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment, teamwork and collaboration in a professional setting; either military or civilian.
  • High energy level focus and ability to work well in demanding client environments.
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership, problem solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Unquestionable professional integrity, credibility and character.
