Corporate Functions – Marketing + Communications
As part of this team, you’ll play a key role in helping Accenture execute its strategy. You’ll work with a diverse team of innovative marketing experts who focus on the following areas: global brand management and advertising; global events and sponsorships; internal communications; marketing research; media and industry analyst relations; corporate and financial communications; internet marketing; recruitment marketing; client-centric marketing; and industry, service line and geographic marketing campaigns.


YOUR ROLE: CEO Speechwriter


We are seeking an experienced Communications professional to join our CEO Communications team.


The senior manager, CEO Speechwriter, will create all forms of written content for our global CEO, Julie Sweet, and support her as the lead spokesperson and storyteller for Accenture in order to measurably increase the reach, influence, and impact of the Accenture brand.


He/she/they will develop memorable written content for our CEO that brings to life Accenture’s purpose to deliver on the promise of technology and human ingenuity every day.


As part of the CEO communications team, he/she/they will work with a diverse team of innovative communication experts who develop integrated CEO communication strategies and thought leadership narratives. More broadly, this role is part of Accenture’s Marketing + Communications team, which supports our strategy, enhances our long-term relationships, inspires our candidates and our nearly 537,000 people around the world and helps drive profitable revenue growth.


The ideal candidate is a highly motivated communications professional with a background in writing and/or journalism.


He/she/they will be detail-oriented and a proactive team player and will possess exemplary judgment, impeccable writing and storytelling capabilities.
Role Responsibilities:

  • Be an outstanding writer with a proven ability to clearly and crisply capture the personality/voice, vision, and priorities of the CEO on a wide range of topics.

  • Research, develop, write and edit a wide variety of materials for Accenture’s Global CEO, including quotes, video scripts, speeches, talking points, backgrounders, narratives, and op-eds and thought leadership pieces, as well as correspondence with key stakeholders and other written materials.

  • Create strategic messaging that conveys Accenture’s corporate narrative to external and internal audiences, including investors, media, policy makers, industry partners, and particularly Accenture’s nearly 537,000 people and clients across more than 40 industries and 120 countries.

  • Support the CEO communications team and partner with marketing and brand, corporate communications, people communications, investor relations, government relations, and client account teams.

  • Interact frequently with senior leaders across Accenture to remain current on the company’s strategy, growth priorities, research, and client services.

  • Possess the ability to interview subject matter experts and translate complex ideas into simple, memorable, and powerful stories.

  • Demonstrate a keen understanding of technology, particularly digital, cloud and security, as well as inclusion and diversity and sustainability.


YOUR EXPERIENCE: Basic Qualifications
- Bachelors degree or equivalent
- Minimum of 10 years of marketing and communications experience


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a large global enterprise strongly preferred
  • Experience in analyzing, developing and communicating complex information, as well as developing compelling external messages.

Professional Skills

  • Exceptional writing, editing and oral communications skills – ability to produce compelling content for internal and external audiences to achieve desired results.
  • Track record of conceiving, writing, and coordinating executive, and particularly CEO content, including quotes, video scripts, speeches, talking points, backgrounders, narratives, and op-eds and thought leadership pieces, as well as correspondence with key stakeholders and other written materials.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to successfully manage multiple assignments simultaneously – and at speed – while collaborating with multiple teams and partners across functional and geographic groups.
  • Ability to work independently and with an entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Demonstrated leadership in a professional setting; either military or civilian.
  • Strong strategic, analytical thinking skills, with demonstrated excellence in creating and articulating ideas.
  • Experience in integrated communications, including in-depth knowledge of earned, paid, owned and shared media.
  • A creative, state-of-the-art communications professional who understands emerging technologies, communication best practices, and has a passion for exploring new methods of communicating.
  • Ability to work well under pressure as this role must deliver high-quality communications under tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated leadership in professional setting; either military or civilian
  • Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration in a professional setting; either military or civilian
