Accenture’s UK Capital Markets business has set Intelligent Operations as a key priority offering in 2021, in recognition of the growing client demand and market focus on the use of data to realise operational efficiencies, increase control and strengthen communication with the business and clients.

Regulation has given customers more transparency of pricing, and flexibility to pick and choose. To stay ahead, banks need the ability to strengthen client relationships and leverage scale, but also to move quickly to exploit new products, markets and client segments as opportunities arise. We support investment banking operations teams in developing the scalability and agility to facilitate these business strategies through data-centric workforce and technology transformation. Accenture’s Intelligent Operations offering brings together a global network of strategy, business and technology consultants, alongside highly skilled Operations practitioners. Our capabilities span all aspects of the following functions: Client Operations (including Compliance), Post Trade Operations, Enterprise Operations, Utility and Cross Value Chain Operations – and we are seeking motivated and experienced practitioners in these areas to support the growth of our practice.

In our team you will learn:

  • The future of Capital Markets Operations and the journey our clients will be taking to achieve this through data-led transformation
  • To design and deliver the key enablers for clients to achieve intelligent operations: data and analytics strategies, workforce transformation and data academies, control automation strategies, app modernisation roadmaps, intelligent business case development, customer service strategies, fintech and ecosystem integration
  • Focus on Client Operations: Customer journey mapping, development of client data and communication channels, client reference data assessments, transformation of the control environment and digitization of the client outreach function
  • Focus on Post Trade Operations: Deploying predictive analytics for matching & settlement and insight-led process improvement. Automation and implementation of workflow to support reporting, settlement, collateral, and asset servicing with a focus on email reduction and efficiency enhancement. Process mining to yield use cases for automation
  • Focus on Enterprise Operations: Document digitisation, smart contracts, cloud-based communications services,
  • Focus on Utility Operations: Document Digitisation, advanced analytics and data streamlining, uplifting of payments to new standards (e.g. ISO 20022), payment process data mining to propose improvements
  • Focus on Cross Value Chain: Digitisation of research using AI and text analytics, Modern data Operations, conducting digital decoupling assessments (e.g. to extract data from legacy mainframe infrastructure)
  • Capital Markets Industry insight, developing points of views and though leadership

In this role you will:

  • Deliver client change and transformation through implementation of Intelligent Operations projects
  • Build trusted relationships with client and Accenture teams in a dynamic and challenging environment
  • Support building out Accenture’s Intelligent Operations Thought leadership
  • Lead teams and support development of Accenture’s Capital Markets practice through people development and mentoring of more junior team members
  • Develop and identify sales opportunities that are aligned with client agendas, creating value-driven sales propositions in Intelligent Operations


We are looking for experience in the following skills:

  • Process and target operating design, process mining and mapping
  • Business, Technical and Data Analysis
  • Programme Management and delivery – including Prince, PMP & Agile Delivery methodologies
  • Financial Services experience

Set yourself apart:

  • Ability to successfully build relationships with clients and stakeholders
  • Mastery of problem solving and solutioning
  • Strong Academic Background, to Bachelors’ degree level or higher, or equivalent experience
  • Familiarity with the Capital Markets Operations ecosystem, key trends and emerging technologies
  • Experience in delivering Operational change and transformation
  • Experience in the Investment Banking industry, including an understanding of Front, Middle and Back office processes and a high-level understanding of the trade lifecycle
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a team environment with excellent client relationship/interpersonal skill, strong written and verbal communication skills and a strong professional presence. This should include excellent written (structured documents, presentations) and verbal communication skills (facilitation of meetings, presentation of materials)
  • Well-developed analytical skills including ability to work with poorly defined problems, provide clarity to complex issues or situations and synthesise large amounts of information and highlight salient points
