Qualifications External:
As a ‘Technical Architect’ you will:

  • Demonstrate significant innovation and thought leadership in one or more technology architectures that has been applied across multiple clients globally (e.g. SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics 365).
  • Lead the creation of new/evolving or existing offerings, assessing the value any new capabilities could unlock for organizations + ecosystems (inclusive of road-mapping).
  • Work as part of a diverse project team, to help shape and deliver solutions at our most technically complex client engagements and early adopters. This could involve:
  • Defining and documenting the technical landscape, reviewing the solution approach and architecture to help drive the best design and mitigate risk on complex IT/transformational programs.
     
  • Shaping, reviewing, or testing the solution plan and effort estimations that constitutes the program.
  • Creation and management of non-functional requirements, including working with third parties to ensure deliverables are completed.
  • Assist as required in the facilitation and gathering of functional/technical requirements; steering conversations where appropriate to ensure technical feasibility and design simplicity.
  • Working closely with client stakeholders to ensure the designed solution meets industry and client specific requirements/standards + fits the strategic direction of the company’s enterprise architecture.
  • Overview the development and testing team progress to ensure that the software design and implementation meets the architectural goals and quality standards.
  • Identification and ownership of technical project Risks and Issues, including owning mitigation activities and resolution of issues.
  • Other ad-hoc duties as requested by the Program Manager or client to ensure the successful delivery of the program.

Set yourself apart:

  • Architecture certifications. Examples:  TOGAF, AWS Solutions Architect Professional, Microsoft Certified Solutions Architect Expert, GCP Professional Cloud Architect
  • Hold project experience through all phases of a typical software development lifecycle (SDLC), preferably with agile methods like Scrum, Kanban, SAFe.
  • Have architecture or hands-on experience with modern DevOps tools and workflows such as: Atlassian suite, GitHub, VSTS, Jenkins, Octopus deploy.
  • Formulate and articulate new points of view on emerging technologies (e.g. whitepapers).


Qualifications:

We are looking for experience in the following skills and areas:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree - STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) majors (preferred but not essential).
  • A minimum of 5-7 years’ project experience, with evidence of leading geographically distributed teams with successful outcomes (Energy, Utility & Chemical sectors preferred).
  • Experience in leading large-scale transformation programs (ERP/CRM), preferably for a large multinational corporation either using Waterfall or Agile methodologies.
     
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience designing, delivering, and assessing complex technical architecture solutions.
     
  • Hold software design/development experience in one of the following areas:
     
    • Data Design and Database Configuration
    • Continuous integration and delivery
    • Functional/Unit test Automation
    • Infrastructure provisioning
    • Security
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of object-oriented design techniques and patterns.
  • Ability to identify, comprehend and discuss functional, non-functional, and technical solutions addressing requirements with internal and external stakeholders in a succinct and meaningful manner. Excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Proven ability to work creatively and demonstrate analytical/critical thinking skills to work through a problem to successful resolution.  
  • A passion for learning and experimenting with new technologies and connecting these technologies to business outcomes.
