Roles & Responsibilities

As a cloud data architect you will:

  • Work with client teams to solution, design and implement modern, secure & scalable cloud data solutions

  • Advise and engineer innovative data solutions across leading cloud platforms including AWS, Azure and GCP

  • Use good communication skills to understand and deliver client requirements

  • Bring your experience and ideas to innovative client data strategy, architecture, and engineering solutions

  • Successfully manage small teams of data engineers managing their work efforts to securely deliver client solutions

  • Mentor and upskill fellow cloud data engineering group members

  • Contribute to our internal networks and special interest groups

  • Continuously learn new technology platforms, architectures, and engineering patterns


Here's what you need:

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in solutioning, architecting and engineering in the following skills: 

  • Extensive knowledge of cloud industry trends, including public, private & hybrid cloud platforms & technologies

  • Data integration approaches including ETL, API, IoT, serverless and event driven data architectures

  • Leading big data solutions such as Hadoop, AWS Big Data, Azure Big Data and GCP Big Data

  • Leading data warehouse solutions such as AWS Redshift, Azure SQL DW, GCP Big Query and Snowflake

  • Database technologies including such as relational (Oracle, SQL Server) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases

  • Familiarity of leading ETL and event streaming technologies such as Talend, Attunity and KAFKA

  • Programming languages such as SQL, Python and Java

  • Knowledge of cloud security and infrastructure as code technologies (Terraform, Ansible)

Professional qualifications:

  • Bachelors or higher degree in Computer Science or a related discipline

  • Proven ability to build, lead and foster a team-oriented environment

  • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment

Set yourself Apart:

  • Consulting or client service delivery experience

  • Strong cloud & data certifications across AWS, Azure and GCP

  • Strong in Power BI, Java, C#, Spark, PySpark, Unix shell/Perl scripting
